Butterfly – The Monarch

Found at the center of the window, the butterfly is a symbol of the Resurrection and Eternal Life. As the butterfly leaves the cocoon and soars upward with a new body, so through Jesus Christ are his followers borne (carried; lifted) to a new life. It has long been a symbol of Christ’s coming forth from the tomb. Finally, the butterfly symbolizes our beauty and freedom as our spirits sora in the joy of Christ’s love. The Monarch Butterfly was chosen as the center of our widow because of its extraordinary and striking colors, what it symbolizes and because the name Monarch calls us to remember that God is the ruler of our lives.  

The Alpha and Omega The “A” and “O” letters on the extreme left and right of the window are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, which signify that Jesus is the beginning and end of all things. Revelation 1:8: “I am the Alpha (first) and the Omega (last), says the Lord God Almighty, who is, who was, and who is to come” The letters symbolize the everlasting nature of Christ’s divinity. The window was given as a memorial by Mildred and Alton Stone.
